About Us

The San Francisco Bay Area Advanced Practice Center

The San Francisco Bay Area Advanced Practice Center (APC) serves as a resource for the public health community nationwide by developing and sharing tools and materials that advance public health preparedness. Each of our Toolkits, collectively known as the San Francisco Bay Area APC Public Health Infectious Disease Emergency Readiness (SPIDER) Toolkits, focus specifically on infectious disease emergency preparedness and response capabilities. Funded by the National Association of County and City Health Officials in collaboration with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the San Francisco Bay Area APC represents a partnership between the San Francisco Department of Public Health and the UC Berkeley Center for Infectious Diseases and Emergency Readiness. To develop, evaluate, and improve our products and trainings, we work closely with the Association of Bay Area Health Officials (ABAHO) Public Health Preparedness Committee. ABAHO represents 7.6 million Bay Area residents living in urban and rural counties, cities, and towns.
